Let's Make Art! is a weekly art activity program run by ArtBeatz that occurs every Saturday and Sunday at Tampines Hub to engage children and residents living nearby in crafts making.
What I learned:

- Organization skills by setting up, running the event and preparing some materials such as paint, craft papers etc.
- Communication skills by interacting with the event organizers, parents and children
- Crafts making and DIY skills

For Teacher's Day, we carried out an science experiment activity where we would guide the children to rub the balloons given on the teacher's head. They would then use the gravity produced to move the notes on the balloon from one circle to the other on the table.

For Teacher's Day, we carried out a dress-up activity where the children would have to help dress the teachers up by placing the correct clothing accessory on the right place.

A physical education class where children are tasked to cross the bridge of small stools and chairs with guidance from teachers.

Teacher Assistant I Divinity Kindergarten I September 2022

I had the opportunity to volunteer at my brother's school for Special Needs students from the ages of 3 to adulthood. It was a fruitful learning experience as I could interact and teach a group of students with different needs such as Cerebral Palsy and Autism, something that I did not learn in my course.

As a future early childhood educator, this was an important learning experience as it is essential that I gain more knowledge and skills in Early Intervention to detect and better teach a diverse group of learners.

What I learned:
- Useful classroom management and teaching strategies from trained Early Intervention teachers.
For example, I learned to make makeshift scales for the children to explore and find the difference between materials instead of making them listen to me talk about what weights are.
Food Distributor Volunteer I East Youths I August 2022

I joined East Youths in August 2022 and participated in my first event with them through a monthly food distribution event. I helped to collect food from the donors, separate them into halal and non-halal foods and distributed them to families living in the flats nearby.
What I learned:

-As East Youths hold these events in different residential areas, I managed to learn and utilise my communication and planning skills.

Student Volunteer I People's Association Youth Movement (PAYM) I March 2018

As part of a Values-In-Action Programme in 2018, my Seconday 3 classmates and I went on a volunteer program held by the People's Association Youth Movement to bring a group of 20 children to the Singapore Discovery Centre. We were each assigned the role of child caregiver and to ensure the well-being and safety of the children.
